HEY guys!! Welcome back to my blog! This week We gonna discuss and focus about food😋 😋
We as malaysian already know how good, unique, and delicacies of our multiple foods in our beloved country. Nobody will resist or refuse to eat nasi lemak, roti canai, and nasi kandar which have magnificent taste that could spark everyone's appetite. It is quite interesting and fascinating to talk more about our foods in Malaysia nor in other countries.
However, behind the diversity of tasty foods available in the world, We will shock to hear about how worst the food wastage that occur in our daily life and Around the globe. According to some data , an estimated 1.3 billion tonned is wasted globally each year. One third of all food produced for human consumptions. The amount of food lost or wasted cost 2.6 trillion USD annually and is more thn enough to feed all the 815 million hungry people in the world. In Malaysia, the total amount of food waste can certainly fill up 16 of twins. These data show that food waste cannot be reluctant in order to mantain the prosperity of human and Environment. I have listed some individual solution can be taken in our daily life.
1.SHOP SMART
Most people tend to buy more food than they need. We must consider what "need and want" in our food listing for grocery shopping. Proper plan is very important before heading off to the grocery store. We required to check our food supply first and bring a List to the grocery store. Beside that, the optimal strategy to be taken is to pre plan meals for the week, develop the List of ingredients and exact quantities needed. Buying more ingredients in the hopes It will persuade to cook is not a great method. Know your self and be realistic!! ✌️
2.KEEP THE FRIDGE CLUTTER-FREE
"Out of sight, out of mind", this word become true when it comes to food. Having a well-stocked fridge can be an advantage but an overly filled fridge can be bad when it comes to food waste. FIFO method which stand for "first in, first out" is the best method to arrange the food stock in the fridge as well as avoid food spoilage. For example, when We but a new cartoon of grapes, We should place the newer package behind the old one, so that, so that we will remember which one should be finish first.
3.UNDERSTAND EXPIRATION DATES
A consumer should know about the terms of 'use by' and 'best before' in order to avoid misleading of food expiration. The term 'use by' define a food must be eaten or thrown away by the date. After this date, food may be unsafe to eat even if It look fine because the nutrients in the food may become unstable or a build-up of bacteria may occur. Common 'use by' foods include milk and meats. Furthermore, 'best before' term shows a food is still safe to eat after the date as long as they not damaged, deteriorated, or perished. However, the best before date Indicate that the product may lost some of Its quality after this date passes, such as the change of colour, taste, texture and flavour. This method would be the easiest method for an individual to do.
4.SAVE LEFTOVERS
Whenever we eating at home or out at a restaurant, don’t let leftover edible food go to waste in the trash or compost bin.At restaurants, get a to-go box, or better yet, bring our own container. After a home-cooked meal, pack up the leftovers and get them into the fridge after everyone has filled up. Label the leftovers and store them in a place in the fridge where we won’t forget about them. Thus, make leftover edible foods as a lunch meal is the easiest way and require a low effort to do It. Many foods can be ate once again when We keep it in the fridge and heat them in the microwave when We ready to serve and eat It again.
